Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She later became a morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reportage on the streets of Charleston about the police's leniency toward DUI cases resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the instances. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. O'Dell's current role as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's reported on The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted numerous pre-show arrivals show in preparation for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. Co-hosted also The Miss USA pageant as well as the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
